Interests in Native American and Asian Spirituality have led Mr. Murphy on a life long quest into the deeper aspects of existence. He studies Hatha Yoga, Kripalu Yoga, Raj Yoga, Taoist Esoteric Yoga and Chi Kung. A practitioner of Tai Chi Chuan for over twenty nine years, he was an instructor at the former New Life Institute in Staten Island, New York and has teaches Tai Chi and for the satellite programs offered by Arizona Western College. Initiated into Tibetan Buddhism by H.H. the Dalai Lama during a Kalachakra Festival, has studied a number of Tantras. Has studied Healing Touch Techniques, Reiki, Reflexology, Kinesiology, and is a Certified Associate Polarity Therapist and member of the American Polarity Therapy Association. Michael currently studies the inter-relationships of Herbalogy, Aromatherapy and essential oils (plant essences) and is transcribing William Johnson's (Hermit's) manuscripts and writings.

In Memoriam: Shirley A. McGhee, B.A., M.S., M.S., A.T.R.: Credentials in Art Education and Art Therapy, taught Art Education to the severely emotionally disturbed for nine years and wrote the Art Therapy program protocols adopted by the Pinellas County, Florida school system. As an Art Therapist, she has worked with the emotionally disturbed, substance abuse and addictions with Clearwater Psychiatric Hospital, Beverly Hills Psychiatric Hospital, the National Neighborhood Counseling Center, and Sisters of Charity/St. Vincent's Hospital system in Staten Island, New York City. Member of the American Art Therapy Association. Studied and implemented Shamanic practices.

An accident in August 1998 caused Shirley to suffer spinal cord injury leading to T-12/L1 paraplegia. She remained in hospitals five months. With Michael by her side, Amasha Oils remained closed until she returned home. Despite numerous setbacks she persevered against all odds, slowly convalescing, training in physical therapy, and was very active in Amasha Oils' sales, telemarketing, and internet efforts. She was a brilliant office manager and organizer.

Shirley remained wheelchair accessible and educated many she came into contact with. She was known to patiently explain any shortcomings regarding handicapped accessibility to the managers of public facilities and was respected for her kindness and knowledge of ADA requirements. In 2001 Shirley trained and was re-certified to drive again. She obtained an accessible van containing a wheelchair lift and motorized drivers seat from a generous donor.

Shirley worked at Presbyterian Hospital/Socorro Mental Health as a Tobacco Abuse prevention therapist and revitalized the grant program. Her coworkers and the children and adults with whom she worked were fond of Ms. McGhee.

In November 2001, she developed sepsis from a medical procedure and passed away two weeks later. Shirley McGhee is missed by all who came into contact with her. Her gentle demeanor and loving patience have made a permanent impact on us all. Wherever she is, there goes Love. She is survived by her mother, two sisters and their families, her daughter and two grandchildren.

William Johnson: ( aka: Joe the Magician, Hermit) his modesty prevents us from displaying credentials, (occasionally remarks how he wallpapered the outhouse with all the diplomas and credentials). Quotes are from an unpublished autobiography:

During the Sixties, William Johnson lectured and taught Herbalogy, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Color Therapy, Water treatment, Pranic Ayurveda, Chemistry, Physics, Alchemy, Physical and Mental Alchemy, the Zohar, the Tree of Life, religions, cultures, American Indian ceremonies and rituals, vibrational healing by sound, light, and personal oscillation, meditation, and other related subjects. Having lectured many years, his students and clients number in the thousands.

At the beginning of the Seventies, William Johnson took a measure of the type of students he was getting and realized many of them were lazy or looking for a quick way to appear important. "Most students did not want to learn the "boring" parts of healing mentally and physically, chemical structures, physical anatomy, or use the resources of those who use physical anatomy. They just wanted to call themselves healers or herbalists." William Johnson did not believe you could be an herbalist, aromatherapist, acupuncturist, or acupressurist without a sound basis in chemistry, anatomy, and the physical effects of one's environment. He subsequently retired from practice and lecturing because he believed that the greatest things in healing are one's personal knowledge, intellect, and love.

"Herbs are chemicals and they must be treated with respect. The human body is a vessel and one must learn how it functions and keeps reproducing life within an individual."

Since 1971 and his retirement, William Johnson has taken on private instruction and those who have come around him have had many questions. He has answered the questions according to the individual needs of each person. He designed and put together Amasha Oils for the individual, not as the way but as a tool to aid.

"The ten oils of Amasha are not the answer, they are the beginning to a question. They are not the healer, but the development to good health. Good health comes when one investigates themselves and understands that Self, cares for and loves that Self, it comes by giving the Self knowledge in as many things as possible."

When William Johnson gives any lecture or a working class, it will range on all the topics listed above and more, showing how they fit together. "So if you want to use natural healing systems this is fine, but go to the doctor and have all the physical tests run. Give the results to your herbalist or healer so they can understand what points to begin at to help you, for they need all the knowledge they can get to be able to make the correct decision."

"If you are a believer in "intuitive" healing, Tarot card healing, or taking herbal equations from one who does not even know anatomy, then do not attend these lectures. If you believe in healing intuitively then take your car to a mechanic who has no knowledge of engines and automobiles and tell them to fix it. All you have to do is show them how to open the door, sit inside, and write up a bill."

There is no lecture that William Johnson will give that will have all the answers. "These are only lectures which will point in the direction to help educate one's own mind. When all is said and done, it is the Self that will heal you. For you must go after the root of the sickness or disease, not just cut off its flowers."

His study and experience has taken him around the world. Comprehensive understanding and broad experience has enabled him to create the ultimate system of essential oils use and Aromatherapy for Amasha Oils. William Johnson continues development in tinctures, herbs, and essential oil distillation and blending, yielding exceptionally effective products that promote relaxation, other health goals, and various meditative, metaphysical, and esoteric achievements. His current efforts have yielded our new Mineral Essence Protection Oils and the new meditation and reflection manifestation series of booklets and trainings. He also has produced an exceptional series of graphic computer art pictures based in esoteric and Magickal themes and plans to illustrate his current writings with them. Those of us lucky enough to be around him are always amazed at his depth of understanding and endless abilities.

William Johnson has created training systems and healing symbols for expanding the safety and effectiveness of self empowerment and therapeutic work with others. He is again available for group and individual consultation. His ongoing lecture series is classic and an open door for us all.
