10/14/09:
Things get a bit
hectic and strained around here occasionally. Sure, everyone has ups and downs,
that's all part of life anyhow. Amasha Oils and our founder, Hermit, have had
some good times and some trials and tribulations since Amasha Oils' inception in
April 1997. It would be wonderful to say our high quality products have been a
raging success, but so far despite our continuing efforts at research,
development, production, sales and constant improvement, financial rewards have
remained just out of reach.
We have offered
some wonderful classes and these too have been slow to reach widespread acclaim
and acceptance. Hermit is again corresponding with interested people and
creating individualized trainings in some cases. We now have the Third Eye
training system sponsored by Amasha Metaphysical Institute and this has been
exciting in cities around Arizona. My efforts at bringing Tai Chi
Chuan to the desert over the last few years have brought some unexpected
admirers and a little uneven cash flow. Perhaps its our
reclusive natures or our Path of study and experience. Maybe its halitosis, poor
hygiene, or marked dementia. Whatever it is, times are trying and donations graciously accepted.
You may wonder
just what it is we would do with these donations. To start with, the well is is
now repaired and we can enjoy running water again. A July tornado came for a
Sunday afternoon visit and rolled the trailer I was eating dinner in about 4
times. When I scrambled out into the torrential rain and wind, covered in blood,
it dawned on me just how rural and isolated this place still is. Our neighbor's
trailer flew into my car, the roof was ripped off an older awning/work area, the
motorcycle shed, and tool room were airlifted away, and the trailer I had been
in rolled into another one and both were completely destroyed. In the weeks that
followed I discovered parts of everything nicely distributed over a 2 mile path
into the desert. I have been cleaning up and rebuilding for over two months now.
Our lab requires
a few more pieces of equipment. There are a few plant oil and tincture projects
on hold until we can get them up and running with some specialized glassware. We could use a
pickup truck, doesn't need to be new. We purchased a used Mazda pickup for trips
into town and the desert and wouldn't you know it, the engine threw a wrist pin
the very next week when one of the girls borrowed it. I retrieved it and now the
engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced. So does the front end.
We still have some debts hanging around,
it would be a pleasure to pay them
off. We have borrowed from many sources to keep Amasha Oils alive. We have
stored up canned foods to get through the thin times and we're doing well
enough. Amazing what people trained in French cooking and New York style
Italian recipes can accomplish with dry goods and canned foods. Perhaps some
day, we'll winsomely look back on all this with fond tears in our eyes and say;
"Remember when... ". Ah well, don't look back, its a waste of time and
energy. "Keep flowing" we say!
Anyhow, we don't
need anything from anyone struggling along, these are tough times and getting
tougher each day. But if you are flush at the moment, comfortable, and
appreciate our continuing efforts at bringing you high quality products and
authentic metaphysical training systems and tools, well then we won't turn your
donation down. And when we again become solvent and safe, on our hind legs, up and running
at the level we aspire to, we
will discontinue this Hermit Fund.
